The Global Forgiveness Day Concert

David Duval of Concerts for Hope sent the following statement:

"I began this Global Forgiveness Day Concert because more than 20 years ago, an attack in Hunter’s Point resulted in the paralysis of my right side. The physical and emotional toll led to years of anger, revenge, and despair. It was believed that the nerve damage would prevent me from continuing a drumming career that had shared a stage with B.B. King, Santana and many more.

However, the healing power of forgiveness, particularly self-forgiveness, was a start to rehabilitation which helped me defy medical predictions and eliminate the despair of a future without the passion of performing music.

This Independence Day weekend I am again performing, and at the Global Forgiveness Day Concert the music is a testament to that forgiveness.

My story demonstrates a path towards inner freedom and well-being that even in the face of hardship, forgiveness can be a catalyst for renewal and reconciliation, transforming wounds into wisdom and releasing emotional burdens

Maybe you or a friend has had a similar journey. As such, you understand more than most, which is why your encouragement and support is a vital representation to the profound effect of this music.

Your donation and your presence helps in a world often burdened by conflict and division and it promotes a path towards understanding, compassion, and reconciliation."
