“We are excited to join the Kobalt Family,” said Alfredo Becerra, CEO of K Music. “This partnership is a significant milestone for K Music and K Music Publishing. We look forward to the incredible possibilities that lie ahead. This deal is not just about securing the intellectual property of our songwriters but about offering new pathways to the talented creators we represent, helping them break through new markets, and achieving even greater success”.
"K Music Publishing roster includes some of the most influential voices in contemporary Mexican music," a statement reads. "Luis R Conriquez, for example, has consistently ranked among Mexico’s Top 10 most-streamed artists on Spotify for over two years. He became the third Mexican artist ever to appear on the cover of Billboard, reached the Billboard Hot 100 with “Si No Quieres No,” and held the #1 spot on Spotify Mexico’s Top 200 chart for over six consecutive months. Widely recognized as a pioneer of the modern Música Mexicana wave, Luis R continues to champion new talent, inviting emerging artists to share the stage with him and expanding the genre's reach worldwide, while breaking ticket sales records on his arena tours in the US and Mexico."
"Meanwhile, Tony Aguirre has cultivated a loyal audience of over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify with his genre-blending style, his skills vary from songwriting major hits such as 'Me Metí En El Ruedo,' 'Buenas Rachas,' to gaining a massive social media following stemming from his authenticity, humor, and compelling presence in comedy skits and podcasts, all while staying true to his musical roots. Tony has also played a pivotal role in launching artists like Luis R and Xavi, collaborating with them in the early stages of their careers. Most recently, he teamed up with Víctor García on a refreshed version of 'Ayer Te Pedí,' which landed in YouTube’s Top 10 daily video charts."
“Kobalt partners with companies that are reshaping the future of music,” said Tere Romo, Kobalt’s Senior Creative Director for Latin America. “K Music has consistently demonstrated its ability to discover and develop groundbreaking talent in the Música Mexicana community. This partnership marks an exciting new phase for both of our companies and we’re thrilled to support K Music Publishing as they continue to push the boundaries of the genre and bring their incredible artists to a global audience.”
