Position Music is an independent publisher, record label, and management firm distributed by Virgin Music, with a track record of shaping chart-topping careers. Founded in 1999, the company now operates from a growing Los Angeles headquarters and has built a multinational presence. Its roster includes Cannons, Tinashe, Khalid Yassein, and Welshly Arms, among others. Recently, Position Music was ranked No. 7 publisher in Billboard’s Hot 100 for Q3 2024.
Now, the company has announced the signing of Swiss-born producer Freedo to a global publishing deal. Freedo’s career spans hits for Zara Larsson, The Chainsmokers, ENHYPEN, Alok, and Ava Max, as well as remixes for artists including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Demi Lovato. His catalog has collectively garnered more than eight billion streams worldwide.
Mike Torres, A&R at Position Music, describes Freedo’s versatility as exceptional. “Freedo has a gift for reaching the top in any genre he works in,” Torres states. “From massive pop anthems like ‘Lush Life’ to dance hits like ‘Takeaway,’ and heartfelt singer-songwriter tracks like Henry Moodie’s ‘drunk text,’ Freedo has a rare ability to make any song feel both global and unforgettable. Working with him is a dream, and I'm beyond excited for what's ahead.”
For Freedo, joining Position Music felt like a natural step. “From the moment I met Mike, Emily and Mark, I knew I wanted to work with them,” he says. “We shared a clear vision for the next chapter of my career… The Position team knows how to support creatives, and they do it with real passion. I am excited to see where we can take this together.”
His manager, Benji Vermeil, shares the sentiment: “From the Deep Swiss Alps to Hollywood: Freedo, we finally made it! Huge thanks to Mike, Mark, Tyler and the entire Position crew. We couldn’t be happier to kick off this next chapter together.”
