These Detroiters have got the whole pop-punk trio thing down––and should go straight to the nearest Warped Tour stage. Though the songs kinda blend into a formulaic similarity, the band delivers its straight-ahead, punk-fueled fare with unerring, extremely tight performances all around. We appreciate what sounds like the sneering influence of Johnny Rotten and Jello Biafra in the lead vocals; but perhaps due to an “all- for-one/one-for-all” ethos those lead vocals are somewhat buried, enjoying no favoritism in the mix. Cascade Riot’s most effective number is the brief “There’s Something In There,” the band’s most appealing, commercial sounding song, a tune that could work very nicely in a teen flick.
