Rapper, singer and songwriter Paul Russell has teamed up with ever-blossoming rap star Saweetie for new single and video "That Girl."
The video sees Russell and Saweetie showing up to some sort of art event together, and all of the other dudes in attendance voicing their admiration for Saweetie's appearance.
"It's criminal that girl is so fine," Russell croons, while the other fellas agree.
The song is described as, "a pitch-perfect tribute to ’90s new jack swing out now via Arista Records. The funky, flirty, and irresistibly fun track also comes with a playful music video that finds the dynamic duo orchestrating a brazen heist in a buzzing art gallery."
“Long ago there was a simpler time, when the jeans were baggier, the songs were lovey-er and people actually danced at the club," Russell said. "Saweetie and I think the world needs a bit of that right now so we’re bringing it back: Welcome to the ’90s. I love this song because it makes me want to move and I think it’s gonna do the same for you.”
"Me and Paul were supposed to collaborate for some time and we finally found the perfect record," added Saweetie. "When I heard ‘That Girl,’ I knew I had to be on it. It’s got a nostalgic summertime vibe that makes you want to have fun. It’s something for my icy girls to listen to when they want to tap into their confidence. Always remember: you’re that girl!”
