On Saturday, Aug. 17, the 7th Annual RaiseAChild HONORS concert event, sponsored by Banc of California, was held at the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood.
The event, which celebrates building loving families for foster children, included musical performances from artists Mary Lambert, Sophie B. Hawkins, Suzanne Vega, and Alejandro Aranda (scarypoolparty). Presenters included Hal Sparks, Bobby Cagle (Director of LA County DCFS), Tamara Hunter (E.D. Commission for Children & Families), Cleo King, Camille Thornton and Kari Steele.

Highlights included KTLA 5 and foster parents Jesse and Chris Brune-Horan both being honored with the RaiseAChild "let love define family®" Media Award.
Guests were invited to participate in both live and silent auctions throughout the evening. Auction items provided by RaiseAChild’s supporters included travel packages and tickets to major sporting events.
Funds raised from this event will go to the expansion of the organization’s programming to advance and support more prospective foster and adoptive parents.
