Entertainment One Partners with Metal Imprint Lifeblood

Entertainment One (eOne) has announced a partnership with metal label Lifeblood, Inc. to bring the Lifeblood, Inc. imprint under eOne Music’s umbrella. As part of this exclusive deal, all releases will be marketed and distributed by eOne Music on a worldwide basis.

Lifeblood was formed by three industry veterans: Trevor Phipps (Unearth), famed producer Shane Frisby (Bury Your Dead, The Ghost Inside, and Becoming The Archetype) and entertainment attorney Alex Ploegsma.

Alongside this deal, which will strengthen Lifeblood’s position in the metal world, the label also announces the first two signings under the new deal. 2016 will see full-length releases from both abstract death metal band The Schoenberg Automaton (pictured top) and metalcore band Earthcaller (pictured bottom).

“Lifeblood represents another vehicle to bring great metal/rock artists to eOne," said Scott Givens, SVP of Metal, Entertainment One Music. “Their first round of releases are tremendous and there is much more to come.”

"Finding a proper home and partner for LifeBlood was key and we couldn't be any happier to finalize our vision with eOne,” said producer Shane Frisby.“With a roster that has included such an insane array of artists such as Hatebreed, Crowbar, The Game, DJ Drama and more, it’s truly a dream come true to work with such a diverse and multifaceted organization. The future is bright for LifeBlood and we are beyond excited for us to truly begin!”

"I couldn't be more excited to team up with my friends Shane and Alex on our new label and management venture," said Phipps. "I want to personally thank eOne Music for trusting in our ears and years of experience in many walks of the music business by giving us the opportunity to be part of their impeccable worldwide distribution and release music under the Lifeblood moniker."

Phipps’ band Unearth is part of the eOne roster, and continues to build an impressive metal legacy after releasing genre classics The Oncoming Storm and III: In the Eyes of Fire. Prior to co-founding Lifeblood, Phipps ran Ironclad Recordings, where he developed young bands and partnered with different established companies for distribution, including Metal Blade Records.

“I have massive respect for what Scott and his team are doing over at eOne and it is extremely exciting to be partnering with them on this endeavor,” added Alex Ploegsma, “I am looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship and cannot wait to get Earth Caller and The Schoenberg Automaton out to the masses!”
