Project Kids-Care Telethon Streaming Saturday

More and more stars have signed on to be a part of “Project Kids-Care,” an online charity streaming telethon event helping underserved children in Los Angeles during the holidays, which will be streamed live on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. PST / 6:00 p.m. EST. This six-hour telethon event will feature video performances and appearances from celebrities of all kinds (actors, musicians/recording artists, sports celebrities, TV personalities, and more), with the music theme featuring songs and inspirational messages about Peace, Love & Understanding and the holidays.

The event is being produced by the Get Together Foundation (GTF), in association with Rock Cellar Productions. Newly-named guests include Jack Black, The Dirty Knobs featuring Mike Campbell, Dodgers great Steve Yeager, WAR, Dionne Warwick, Jon Anderson, Larkin Poe, Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee, Mindi Abair, Mitch Ryder, George Wendt (of Cheers fame), Jordan Rudess (keyboardist for Dream Theater), Rob Bonfiglio, Stephen J. Kalinich, T Bear, The Honeys, Marc Bonilla, Scott Goldman (GRAMMY Museum host), CJ Vanston, The Delgado Brothers, Hearty Har (Tyler & Shane Fogerty, sons of John Fogerty), Trevor McShane, John Pratt, and Freebo & Alice Howe.

The telethon event will begin at 3:00 p.m. PST / 6:00 p.m. EST and will go for approximately six hours, with four emcees guiding the action including video performances and shoutouts from the show’s guests, all to help raise money for L.A.’s youth at the holidays. Project Kids-Care is the latest initiative from Get Together Foundation co-founders Kevin and Mare Wachs and follows the highly successful “ALL TOGETHER NOW – L.A.!” telethon in April, which raised over $125,000 of relief money for the City of Los Angeles Coronavirus Crisis Fund (Mayor’s Fund). Project Kids-Care underscores the foundation’s mission of offering immediate assistance to those in need.

Returning to emcee is singer-songwriter Dan Navarro, who was one of the emcees at the Get Together Foundation’s “ALL TOGETHER NOW – L.A.!” telethon in April, along with multi-award-winning actor David Arquette and musicians Micky Dolenz (Monkees legend) and beloved drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Average White Band, Eric Clapton).

Previously announced guests include Kenny Loggins, Joe Jonas, Kenny G, Brian McKnight, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Vivino with Mike Merritt and James Wormworth, The Boxmasters (Billy Bob Thornton & JD Andrew), Michelle Phillips, Don Felder, Ed Begley Jr., Clifton Davis, Jesse Colin Young, Devon Allman, Obba Babatundé, Anne-Marie Johnson, Pablo Cruise, Laurence Juber, Marc Broussard, Marcella Detroit, The Immediate Family (Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel and Steve Postell), Kevin Eubanks, Rob Morrow, Lamont Dozier Jr., Rebecca Holden, Gary Puckett, and the Get Together Foundation’s house band, The Tribe.

The telethon will be live-streamed through Alert the Globe (www.alerttheglobe.com), Facebook Live on Rock Cellar Magazine’s page, and on ABC7.com. It’s free to watch, and viewers will be able to donate through a link or text-to-donate in real time.

Commenting on Project Kids-Care, Kevin Wachs stated, “We are so excited for Saturday – the sheer amount of talent that has signed on to be a part of this event is staggering. We are looking forward to a fun evening of great performances and heartwarming messages, all with the goal of giving back to our community and those in need.”
