Thirteen-year-old country sensation Tegan Marie teamed up with Radio Disney Country, as part of Give a Note Foundation’s fourth annual Music In Our Schools Tour, to treat students at Salina South Middle School in Salina, KS, to a celebratory concert. The school was one of six selected to receive a $2,500 grant from Give A Note Foundation, to be matched by the CMA Foundation.
“I went through a learning curve with guitar and piano and got frustrated at all the small things,” Marie shared with the students prior to her performance. “You have to go through a lot of curves, and then you’re there.
The country vocalist went on to perform a short concert, which included a mashup of the Band Perry’s “Done” with Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” Kelsea Ballerini’s “Yeah Boy,” the Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down” feat. Daya and her debut single, “Lucky Me.” Marie also premiered a brand new song she recently wrote with hit-maker Nathan Chapman, “So Do You.”
