Ramon Ayala at the Peacock Theater

Legend, icon, pioneer, and “King of Accordion” are a few words that come to mind when you think of Ramón Ayala. With a decade spanning six decades, four time Grammy winner Ayala began his farewell tour El Principio de un Final at the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft) in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. March 9th. Ayala Y Sus Bravos Del Norte have released over 30 albums of Norteño  music. Ayala’s most recent performance came a week before at Besame Mucho in Austin, TX. The day before the show, Ayala released a new track “El Retén.” The show lasted over two hours and one of the biggest highlights was a traditional mariachi band joining Ayala. There were many emotions felt throughout the night for fans young and older whether it was the first time seeing Ayala or 10th time. A few songs performed were “Casas de madera”, “Tragos amargos”, “Tristes recuerdos”, “Bonita finca de adobe”, Un rinconcito en el cielo” and “Mi Golondrina.”

The tour lasting around 60 dates will conclude at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA November 30th at what will be the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers. If you’re in the Los Angeles area you can also see Ayala at Yaamava Casino March 28th, the L.A. County Fair May 5th, and the second to last will take place in San Diego November 29th.
