BMI to Honor Taylor Swift at Pop Awards

The BMI Pop Awards will be taking place on May 10 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), a leader in music rights management, will present Taylor Swift (pictured left) with the first-ever Taylor Swift Award in recognition of her creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world. BMI will also honor songwriting visionaries Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil (pictured right) with the BMI Icon Award for their indelible contributions to the craft of songwriting. Also scheduled to attend: Julian Bunetta, Colbie Caillat, Kara DioGuardi, Fall Out Boy, David Foster, Andy Grammer, Imagine Dragons, Ian Kirkpatrick, Carole King, Julia Michaels, Stephan Moccio, Rachel Platten, J.R. Rotem, Justin Tranter, Simon Wilcox, Noel Zancanella and more to be announced soon.

The 64th Annual BMI Pop Awards will recognize the songwriters and publishers of the past year’s most-performed pop songs in the United States from BMI’s repertoire of more than 10.5 million musical works. In addition to bestowing Swift with the Taylor Swift Award and Mann and Weil with the BMI Icon Award, The BMI Pop Song, Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year will also be named during the ceremony.
