Pro Audio Veteran Lisa Roy Passes Away

A tribute to Lisa Roy from Richard (Lisa's brother):

“On behalf of my sister Monique and myself, it is with our deepest sorrow to inform you that our loving sister, Lisa Roy passed away yesterday in her home in Marina Del Rey, California. Lisa was beloved by everyone whose lives she touched, and her larger-than-life personality was truly one of a kind. Lisa was an extraordinary person, and she will be missed by all.

At this time, funeral arrangements have not yet been announced and will be communicated at a later date. Peace”

Lisa Roy has spent the last 20 years immersed in the worlds of independent music and professional audio, working to bring technology and artists together.  Roy’s roots in the music business began when she and a partner co-founded Ground Control Studios, a multi-room facility on L.A.’s Westside that became home to indie and major-label artists with a dedication to creativity and technology. This led to the start of Rock & Roy Entertainment, a consulting firm for artists and technologists. Roy’s client roster over the years has been diverse and wide-ranging, including such technology brands as AT&T Digital Disc Mixer Core, Dell, Intel and DTS; artists such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Alan Parsons, Tori Amos, Danny Elfman, Mutemath, Ben Folds, BT and Nikka Costa; and special events such as the MTV Video Music Awards, Pavarotti and Friends, the annual Audio Engineering Society convention, the Latin GRAMMY Awards, The Pensado Awards and more.
