Fender just turned a page in its global playbook with the release of the JUKJAE Stratocaster® Baggy—a new signature guitar that’s making waves not just for its specs, but for what it represents. This is the first Fender signature guitar by a Korean artist, a milestone that underscores the company’s deepening engagement with Korea’s vibrant music scene.
The collaboration with guitarist JUKJAE—renowned for his delicate, expressive playing and soulful songwriting—is part of Fender Music Korea’s strategic push following its official launch earlier this fall. While the instrument is only available in Korea and Japan, its cultural impact could be felt far beyond.
“I’ve been playing guitar for a long time, but being able to create my own signature model with Fender is truly an honor and a deeply meaningful experience for me,” JUKJAE said, capturing both the personal and professional weight of this release.
But what makes the Baggy more than just another pretty Strat? Let’s break it down.
The guitar is built around Vintage Noiseless™ pickups paired with a Mid-Boost circuit, offering a blend of punchy output and pristine clarity—perfect for players who want power without the hiss. A Push-Push active mid-boost volume knob and TBX tone control make quick tone shaping on the fly as easy as a flick of the wrist. With medium jumbo frets and a player-friendly neck profile, the Baggy keeps comfort high without sacrificing stability.
The aesthetic tells its own story too. The name “Baggy” is inspired by the Korean word for "white clothes"—a nod to JUKJAE’s sartorial habit and the guitar’s subtly aged Olympic White finish.
Priced at around ¥264,000 (about $1,800 USD) and released on December 12, 2025, the model is sold in limited quantities through Fender Music Korea dealers and Japan’s Fender Flagship Tokyo.
