Apogee Studio Hosts A Bad Think Dolby Atmos Immersive Event

A Bad Think, a musical project led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Marquart, recently held an exclusive listening event at Apogee Studio in Los Angeles on the evening of September 22, playing through the entirety of the immersive mix of X, the artist’s latest LP, in the Dolby Atmos® mix created by multi-platinum award-winning producer/engineer Bob Clearmountain.

The event was attended by top professionals and journalists in the worlds of recording and immersive audio, including the artist Michael Marquart as well as the album’s co-producer/engineer Dave Way, mixer Bob Clearmountain, Dolby Atmos mastering engineer Brian Lucey, musicians Kirk Hellie and Phil Shenale, and industry notables Val Garay, Rafa Sardina, Dave Reitzas, Lenise Bent, Dean Parks, Paul David Hager, Neil Avron, Derrick Borte, Bobby Owsinski, Candace Stewart, Rita Wilson, David Helfant, Rory Kaplan, Paula Salvatore, Phil Wagner, Carl Tatz and others. All enjoyed beverages and hors d’oeuvres while the Dolby Atmos mix of the album played in the control room. Additionally, attendees who gathered in the tracking room/event space were simultaneously listening to a stereo version of X through the studio’s PA.
