Andrea Bocelli

Andrea Bocelli at Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA

World-renowned Opera and Classical singer, Andrea Bocelli, performed two sold-out nights at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday and Wednesday (6/18 and 6/19). When it comes to higher ticket prices, Bocelli makes the top of the list, but it’s always worth the price. In the entire 20th and 21st century, few singers received international recognition like Bocelli. Last year, Bocelli turned 60 yet his voice is still perfect. Bocelli has been awarded a Guinness World Record for his album, Sacred Arias, for simultaneously holding the top three spots on the U.S. Classical Albums chart, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and being a seven-time World Music Award winner. The album was also the best-selling Classical album by a solo artist of all time. Outside of music, Bocelli has other talents including having earned a law degree. Bocelli can sing in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin.

Many consider Bocelli to be the greatest Classical and Italian singer of today’s generation following a legacy of greats like Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and his teacher Franco Corelli. This nearly 2.5-hour show featured Bocelli with a full orchestra and a few guests throughout the night. The first guest was soprano Larisa Martinez who sang one solo song. Bocelli was also joined by violinist Caroline Campbell who has previously performed with Bocelli and other greats like Chris Botti and Michael Buble. Opera singers like Bocelli are typically known for unforgettable duets. Bocelli's duets that night were very memorable. His first vocal duet was with the incredible Pia Toscano who was a runner-up on American Idol season 10.

Bocelli brought his 19-year-old son Matteo up to sing “Fall On Me,” from Bocelli’s latest album Si. Matteo blew the crowd away with not only his age but with how similar his voice was to his father's. The last duet of the show was with actor/singer Jamie Foxx for Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”  If there was one song that left the audience in tears it was the incredible “Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro).” On select songs, Bocelli danced. After the show concluded, all of Bocelli’s guests came out to take a final bow. If there is any artist to see today that’ll blow you away, it’s Andrea Bocelli. The show left the crowd stunned and in awe.
