Tyler Chiarelli: The year was 1980. Music was changing in a myriad of ways. More electronic - more pop - more slick production. Yet, through all the glitz, a wrecking ball of an album came forth bringing and keeping Rock and Roll alive. That album was Back In Black by AC/DC. I wouldn't be born for another 5 years but a particular song on that record would come to shape so much of how I listen, perceive, and play guitar.
That song is "Have A Drink On Me". While there are so many songs that have many of the attributes of this song, Drink has that swager, lazy, and just downright cool appeal. The thing that gets me most of all though is the simplicity. It's not fast, it's not all dressed up.
It's a Gibson SG through a Marshall and it's perfect. The feedback at the beginning, the way the rhythm section supports it, and the attitude in which Angus Young played it can never be matched.
