Returning to the studio with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys as producer, the tender-aged guitar phenom follows strongly in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix. Any aficionado of the voodoo child should automatically connect. King’s vocals are dripping with soul, too, but a ballad or instrumental excursion would do much to add visionary breadth.
