Game composer Dale North’s compositions have graced scads of video games, including Ray’s the Dead and River City Girls. This pixel-centric collection, the second in a series, is a tour de force of button-mashing nostalgia made to order for old-school fans. While an impressive display of North’s versatility, there’s a lack of cohesion that makes the album feel more like a demo reel than an artistic statement.
