'80s-Style Hip-Hop Instrumentals and Cues Needed for Placements

Original 1980s-style hip-hop instrumentals and/or instrumental cues are needed by music veteran that’s building a new music licensing catalog for several video game and reality show placements.

Please listen to the references below for reference:

“Children's Story” by Slick Rick

“It's Tricky” by RUN DMC

“I'm Bad” by LL Cool J

“Aint No Half Steppin” by Big Daddy Kane

Recently-composed instrumentals or old-school-leaning material can both work for this request.

Looking for top-notch instrumental tracks that sound more like they belong on a record, and less like what might be found in a typical production music library.

Please send rhythmically engaging hip-hop instrumentals and/or instrumental cues that sound like they're right out of the '80s era. Your submissions can range from quirky and fun, to dark and suspenseful; just make sure your instrumentals are catchy and sound like what would have been mainstream in the 1980s. The use of current instruments and drum sounds probably won't work well for this request, so bust out those DX7 and 808 throwback sounds if you really want to add some authenticity to your tracks.

Instrumentals should have interesting changes, pace, attitude, and emotion. They don't want anything that loops or sounds too repetitive.

Your submissions should be about 2-4 minutes long, give or take. Use references only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit material with any unauthorized samples of other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media.

Typically gets syncs ranging up to $1,000, depending on the ultimate placement. Era-appropriate broadcast quality is needed.

This company offers a non-exclusive, 50/50 deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and Writer’s share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Masters and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a screener hand-picked by the Music Library Owner. Short critiques only. All submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Friday, Sept. 6.
