The West Coast Songwriters will see its 46th Annual Music Conference take place on October 9 to 11at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, "bringing songwriters, artists and music-industry professionals together for a weekend of education, creativity and connection."
"This year’s theme, 'Inspiring Voices, Elevating Talent,' reflects WCS’s ongoing commitment to supporting the songwriting community," they say.
According to a statement, "Throughout the conference, songwriters and artists will have the opportunity to hear from music-industry professionals, participate in conversations about the business and creative sides of songwriting, and connect with other members of the music community. Topics will reflect some of the biggest issues facing today's creators, from streaming and songwriter rights to artificial intelligence, collaboration and building a sustainable career in music."
"But WCS isn't simply about panels and industry information. At the heart of the organization is the belief that songwriting is a community. A song can begin with one person and a blank page, but careers are built through relationships, collaboration, mentorship and the willingness to keep showing up. WCS has spent 46 years creating opportunities for writers at different stages of their journeys to meet, learn from one another and be heard."
"The weekend continues Sunday, October 11, with an evening Industry Night celebration in Los Angeles, bringing together performers, songwriters and music professionals in a setting designed for connection and live music."
