From the ashes of near bankruptcy, Miles entered the world of punk, sharing a building with Malcolm McLaren and Sniffin’ Glue, before shifting gears again as manager of The Police, featuring his brother Stewart on drums.
Miles Copeland founded IRS Records. He also helped launch the careers of some of the most potent musical acts of the 80s and 90s including The Police, The Go- Gos, and REM.”

Despite these changes, it has retained its distinctive character mainly due to its geographical and societal nature and it continues to be cherished as an integral part of Japan's cultural identity, still influencing artists today.
We feature a piece called “Sakura” by Masa Takumi, a lead track from the album that won the 65th Grammy®︎ Awards for the Best Global Music Album. On this track, Masa incorporates traditional Japanese musical instruments such as Shamisen, Shinobue flute, and Bamboo flute.
