The Best Gig I Ever Saw: Ruth B Digs Adele

Modern pop storyteller Ruth B told us about her Adele experience...

Ruth B: The best show I ever saw was definitely Adele. It was right before she released her album 25. At the time, we were signed to the same record label, and she was playing a super intimate show at Radio City Music Hall.

I was already stunned when I was invited, but I was genuinely speechless throughout the entire show. Firstly, hearing all those iconic songs before they were even released was already so overwhelming, but the way she completely captivated the audience with her raw vulnerability and honesty was something that impacted me profoundly.

There weren't any theatrics. It was just her, her impeccable voice, and her stories. I remember realizing for the first time that sometimes, that's all you really need. It made me truly believe that the best thing I could be as an artist was just myself.

This was also very early on in my own career, so I remember leaving feeling incredibly inspired.

Ruth B's album Peace to Make is out August 21.
