Australian singer-songwriter Emma Louise told us about her Adele experience...
Emma Louise: I went to Adele’s One Night Only concert in October 2021. It was the most incredible concert I’d ever seen. It was at the observatory overlooking Hollywood, and there were helicopters flying overhead and everyone had to catch buses to be seated in the courtyard for the show. There was so much of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood everywhere you looked. I felt very out of place haha. But then Adele came on stage and started singing and somehow grounded everyone there and made us all equal in our humanness. Her performance was so real and honest and powerful. She made us feel like we were all in her living room. Which is my favourite kind of concert to go to. Her voice was fucking incredible to hear up close like that. It somehow felt so intimate even though it was such a massive production.
After the concert i was waiting my turn outside a porta-potty and there was this very burly man right ahead of the in the women's que. I was working up a dirty look when I noticed Elen Degeneres and Kris Kardashian walking out of the bathrooms. I guess he was their body gaurds and He helped clear the way for them. there's nothing like an adele concert and some porta potties to remind us we are all made the same.
Emma Louise's album Sunshine For Happiness is out now...
