John Parr
"Restless Heart"
John Parr may be best known for the theme from St. Elmo's Fire, but this rocker from the movie version of The Running Man (which doesn't have a lot in common with the novella), is a raucous, anthemic gem.
Nymphs
"Revolt"
This one's a bit of a curveball. Inger Lorre's Nymphs were an awesome, arty punk 'n' roll band from the '90s, emerging from the same Downtown L.A. scene that gave us Jane's Addiction. Lorre recently left this mortal coil, but tunes like "Revolt" (from Pet Sematary 2) are a reminder of her shining light.
"Who Made Who"
King's directorial debut, which saw machines come to life and start knocking off humans left, right and center, was blessed with a killer AC/DC soundtrack. "Who Made Who" asked the appropriate question.
"Pet Sematary"
"I don't wanna be buried, in the pet sematary," sang Joey, echoing all of our sentiments. Incredible song, decent movie.
Ben E. King
"Stand By Me"
Rob Reiner's adaptation of the King novella The Body is considered one of the very best Stephen King movies. Renaming it Stand By Me was inspired and adding this glorious Ben E. King classic took it to another level .
