For nearly 10 years, the Tedeschi Trucks Band has been bringing their mix of blues rock, jam band and soul to audiences worldwide. Composed of husband and wife Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers) and Susan Tedeschi, Tedeschi Trucks is the must-see blues/rock band today. Their core band has been together since their formation in 2010, a horn section was added in 2015, and their newest member is bassist Brandon Boone who joined the group this year. Since 2011 the group has released four studio albums, all making the Billboard Top 200 with the lowest placing at 28 as well as two live albums. Like the Allman Brothers, the show is broken up into 2 sets with a different setlist each night. TTB are both Grammy and Blues Music Award winners. Tedeschi Trucks stopped at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, CA May 17th.
Set one began with “Laugh About It,” and ended with “Bound For Glory.” Set two began with Derek and the Dominos’ “Keep On Growing,” and “I Want More,” combined with Santana’s “Soul Sacrifice.” The show ended with a one-song encore of Joe Cocker’s “Space Captain.” Trucks is known for his incredible slide guitar skills while Tedeschi not only has a powerful voice but is a great guitarist as well.
Tedeschi Trucks will continue to tour across through November with the last stop being in Little Rock, AR.
