Raphael Tours with Peterson Trib

Lenore publicity Lo ResRenowned jazz pianist Lenore Raphael will bring her Oscar Peterson tribute to California (Palm Springs, Temecula, Santa Ana and Los Angeles) from January 8, 2014 through January 11. Accompanying Raphael will be such noted musicians as Concord and Arbors recording artist Howard Alden (guitar), bassists Jim de Julio and Chris Colangelo (L.A.) and drummers Matt Johnson (Santa Ana) and Roy McCurdy (L.A.).  Raphael will record a Peterson tribute album in early 2014 with such top musicians as Alden and bassist Kelly Friesen.  Both the performances and the album will feature such Peterson classics as If I Were A Bell, Tricotism, There Is No Greater Love and Raphael’s own composition Blues for O.P.  The “Swingin’ Fox,” as she is fondly called due to her musical style, was particularly influenced by Peterson, and she has also performed with his musicians.
