It’s easy to get children’s music wrong. All too often, it ends up being patronizing to the child and horribly irritating to the parent. Dr. Marky knows this, choosing to write quality songs that work as sweet, deliberately honest singer-songwriter fare while also offering valuable information and advice to kids. This ain’t Barney; “Grown Ups Are Growing Up Too” is an invaluable ditty about the fact that adults are far from perfect. Meanwhile, “Breathe In, Breathe Out” is the sort of meditative track that adults could benefit from too. We don’t know if Dr. Marky is a real doctor, but he’s certainly a helpful soul.
