Is this the new Yacht Rock? It’s upbeat, highly polished and catchy-as-a-cold, and all of it is spearheaded by the deep, rich voice of Nick Smeriglio and his raspy-smooth delivery. We were thinking Black Keys, Walk The Moon, even Future Islands as we listened to the uber-catchy “Trouble.” Another hooky chorus propels “For The Night,” a light, bright love pitch (“Baby, lead me to the light!”) that has a winning, optimistic spirit. Finally, “Look In Your Eyes” has lyrics and vocals that are so good. Terrrific drumming, too. It’s another upbeat, buoyant song, but unlike the others its climax unleashes a fun, exciting gust of gang vocals where everyone in this Connecticut band gets to rock the mic. Polished, powerfully fun pop-rock.
