Asher Brinson’s debut album is a strikingly assured introduction, especially for a 16-year-old, leaning fully into the hallmarks of bluegrass. The instrumentation is equally timeless—nothing adventurous, but nothing careless either—and for listeners drawn to classic bluegrass country, there’s real charm in its dedication to form. While one can’t help but wonder what Brinson might sound like if he pushed the genre forward rather than honoring it, his guitar and vocal prowess isn’t something to be overlooked.
