Florida rapper (and former member of hip-hop duo City Girls) Yung Miami releases new album Watch Dis on October 23, and has simultaneously released two singles--"F You" and "2008." In the case of "2008," she's dropped a killer video to go with it.
"'2008' reunites Yung Miami with J White following the pair’s massive success with 'Spend Dat' which sold over 1 million units," a statement reads. "Her voice rings out with the confidence of a championship anthem as she taps into the nostalgia of an era when Southern rap reigned supreme. Miami likens her own winning streak to Jeezy in his prime, channeling the larger-than-life energy of an unforgettable run in hip-hop. The reunion builds on the chemistry behind the biggest solo record of Miami’s career while pushing her sound forward as she prepares to unveil her most personal and fully realized body of work yet."
The vid's a banger; cash, cars and friends assembled and having all kinds of a good time. “They counted me out, and I heard every bit of it," Yung Miami says. "I could’ve come back with one song and played it safe, but why? I got the music and the visuals, so I’m dropping two singles and a video in one day. I’m confident in what I made. I’m back to pop my shit and I want everybody to WATCH DIS.”
See and hear it here.
