Jay Divad strikes a smooth, resonant balance between atmospheric sample flipping and an effortlessly magnetic vocal flow. Tracks like “Shadows” and “Often” are low-key in temperature but high in confidence and what elevates Divad above the crowded indie-hip-hop noise is a tangible sense of originality.
His sharp beat selections and deliberate lyrical cadence showcase a musician deeply connected to his craft. Divad’s laid-back approach works, particularly on those standout cuts, suggesting an artist with a distinct ear and plenty more territory to explore.
