Buzz Me In: Inside the Record Plant Studios
The Record Plant was a groundbreaking recording studio that revolutionized the recording experience and became a legendary name in music history.
In 1976 alone, the studio produced three No. 1 albums: Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life, the Eagles’ Hotel California, and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
With over thirty Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and more than 100 Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum albums credited to its name, the Record Plant studios have left an indelible mark on music history.
As Carlos Santana aptly put it on a visit to the Sausalito studio,
"This place is more important than the Vatican.”
Based on Chris Stone’s memoirs, archives, and interviews with over 100 studio employees, music producers, and recording artists, the new book by Martin Porter & David Groggin Buzz Me In: Inside the Record Plant Studio, offers a thrilling ride through a decade of high drama, hedonism, high tech, sex, drugs, and rock n roll and the musical genius behind it.
Martin & David also manage the popular Record Plant Diaries Facebook page: www.facebook.com/recordplantdiaries
And the website: www.recordplantdiaries.com

THE MIKE GORMLEY SHOW Featuring Howard Bloom, Author of
The Case of the Sexual Cosmos: Everything You Know About Nature is Wrong
LISTEN TO THE PODCAST INTERVIEW HERE FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 -
In 1968, Bloom turned down four fellowships in psychology and neurobiology and set off on a science project in a field he knew nothing about: popular culture.
He was determined to tunnel into the forces of history by entering “the belly of the beast where new myths, new mass passions, and new mass movements are made.” Bloom used simple correlational techniques plus what he calls “tuned empathy” and “saturated intuition” to help build or sustain the careers of figures like Prince, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Billy Idol, Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, John Mellencamp, Queen, Kiss, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Run DMC, and roughly 100 others.
In the process, he generated $28 billion in revenues (more than the gross domestic product of Oman or Luxembourg) for companies like Sony, Disney, Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, and Warner Brothers.
Howard Bloom has been called “next in a lineage of seminal thinkers that includes Newton, Darwin, Einstein,[and] Freud,” by Britain’s Channel4 TV , “the next Stephen Hawking” by Gear Magazine, and “The Buckminster Fuller and Arthur C. Clarke of the new millennium” by Buckminster Fuller’s archivist.
