Sex Pistols' Glen Matlock Signs with Universal Music Group

Sex Pistols founding member and Rock Hall of Fame inductee Glen Matlock has inked a worldwide solo deal with Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment.  The deal will see Matlock release a timely and politically pertinent new album in 2022, as well as UMG’s catalogue division re-releasing of many of his previous solo albums.

Matlock comments, “I am over the moon to have now signed to Universal Music Group, who will be releasing my brand spanking new album, and I can’t wait to get cracking with the team. Watch this space.”

Glen Matlock is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a highly-esteemed resume.  The original bassist and songwriter of the Sex Pistols, Matlock is responsible for co-penning some of history’s most iconic songs, “Anarchy In The UK,” “God Save The Queen” and “Pretty Vacant”.  After his time with The Sex Pistols, Matlock went on to form several well-regarded bands including Rich Kids (with Midge Ure).  He has collaborated with such artists as Iggy Pop, and Primal Scream, and is also a highly in-demand player, playing live with the likes of the legendary reformed Faces.

Matlock has released several solo studio albums, most recently engaging legendary guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie / John Lennon) and Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) for his 2018 effort, GOOD TO GO.  “Keep On Pushing,” a track from the album was deemed “Best Song In The Universe Ever” on Little Steven’s Underground Garage (Sirius XM).
