This is interesting, and there’s a lot going on so buckle up. G’Ra Asim is the assistant professor of English at Washington University in St. Louis and vocalist/bassist of Baby Got Back Talk,and his new book blends “cultural criticism, memoir, humor, and social commentary” while examining “modern romance, loneliness, and emotional survival in the post-pandemic era.” It’s a thought-provoking piece of work and, to sort of smooth the path, he’s formed a boyband amusingly called Uppity, and released the Code Ditching EP. “When it comes to heartache, books and bands are a bard’s best balm,” says Asim.
