WAMCON Los Angeles Will Be Live and In-Person

Women’s Audio Mission (WAM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of women and gender-expansive individuals in music production and the recording arts, presents WAMcon Los Angeles, the organization’s immersive recording arts conference on October 7 & 8, 2022 at the legendary Record Plant studios in Los Angeles.

WAMcon Los Angeles will be LIVE and IN-PERSON, building on the overwhelming success of multiple sold-out virtual events in 2020 and 2021 which reached 1,000+ attendees from 30 countries. This live conference will provide attendees with exclusive access to workshops and mentoring with award-winning women and gender-expansive producers, audio engineers, and songwriters at The Record Plant studios as well as in-person networking opportunities.

The conference will kick off Friday at 1534 N Highland with a Live Concert Sound Panel featuring Jen Watman, Karla Barrera, and Loreen Bohannon – live sound engineers for Lizzo, Phoebe Bridgers, Cat Power, The Roxy Theater, and more. Followed by the return of one of WAM’s most popular panel sessions from past WAMcon’s, the “Recording Prince” Panel, featuring the women engineers – Susan Rogers, Peggy McCreary, and Lisa Chamblee –  who recorded the most iconic albums of Prince.

Saturday will be a day of networking, workshops, and mentoring at one of the world’s most legendary recording studios, Record Plant, where everyone from Beyonce’ to Elton John to Lady Gaga have recorded. We are proud to present the many multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated recording engineers, producers and songwriters who will be conducting these sessions including Simone Torres, Jasmine Chen, Yang Tan, Jaclyn Sanchez, Lynne Earls, Lola Romero, Suzy Shinn, and Tricia Fontneau-Ramos and Nat young from Disney Music Group.

“We are so excited to bring together a phenomenal group of music professionals for another WAMcon LIVE in Los Angeles,” said WAM Executive Director Terri Winston.

"WAMcon is such a rare opportunity for women and gender-expansive folks to be trained and mentored by the very best music producers, engineers and songwriters in the business and in one of the best recording studios in the world. We can't wait to be back in person and connect with everyone!"

WAMcon LA  is sponsored by Dolby, Sweetwater, iZotope, Academy of Country Music, Recording Academy, and Disney Music Group.
