WAM Events in May

We asked the WAM community what they wanted from WAM as it enters its 20th anniversary year, and the answer was loud and clear: more training opportunities in more places, more often.

Throughout 2023 WAM will be holding multiple trainings with a Los Angeles focus that will take place in-person and online with LA talent. Shoutout to our Songwriting with Blush workshop participants, pictured above.
"Every workshop with WAM feels life-changing not only because of the wisdom shared by the incredible speakers and teachers but also through the connections, encouragement, and community created by the group of curious, welcoming professionals and students who support one another." - Songwriting Workshop Participants

Students in the Studio!
Our OASIS Girls on the Mic students had an awesome WAM studio visit this past week with instructor Ari. They received a private tour and session from our talented studio coordinator Arielle Flinkman. Everyone got in the booth and sang/spoke a poem they wrote. It was a magical day!
Thank you, Arielle, Ari, and the entire GOTM team, for creating these experiences for girls and gender-expansive youth!
We appreciate your support, San Francisco GFTA
WAM is grateful for the support we've received from San Francisco Grants for the Arts for over a DECADE.

Grants for the Arts seeks to contribute meaningfully to the presentation and enhancement of existing art forms, while cultivating artistic experimentation and the expansion of San Francisco’s dynamic artistic and cultural diversity.

We love how supportive the San Francisco has been of WAM's Local Sirens concert series, and its championing of local BIPOC women and gender-expansive artists for half of WAM's existence!

Thank you, SF GFTA, for your advocacy!
On behalf of all of us at WAM, thank you for continuing to inspire us and for supporting WAM as we work together to #ChangeTheFaceOfSound!
