Unsigned Only is a platform for artists to be heard by the exact kind of people who can have a major impact on their careers. Since launching seven years ago, five Unsigned Only Grand Prize winners have been signed to record label deals. Winners have included Ingrid Andress (Warner Nashville artist who is currently on Billboard's Hot 100 chart), Faouzia, Eric Ethridge and more. Many other winners have also secured licensing deals, publishing deals, better gigs, press and more recognition after winning the competition.
Unsigned Only awards over $150,000 in cash and prizes, including $20,000 USD in cash to the Grand Prize winner (plus additional prizes) and one-on-one mentoring by an elite group of record company executives. Prizes are also awarded to First and Second Place winners in each category.
Unsigned Only has 18 categories you can enter: AAA (Adult Album Alternative), AC (Adult Contemporary), Americana, Blues, Christian, Country, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Instrumental, Jazz, Latin, R&B/Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop/Top 40, Screen Shot (suitable for music licensing), Teen (18 years old or younger), Vocal Performance and World Music.
Cover songs are eligible in all categories except Screen Shot.
