The Live Beat: Iron & Wine

Sam Beam is hitting the road again, and this time, it’s in service of the Light Verse album.

The Iron & Wine frontman has announced a fresh batch of North American tour dates slated for April and May 2026, bringing a 16-city run through spots like Columbia, Milwaukee, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Brooklyn, and Washington, D.C. Joining Beam along the way is Improvement Movement, whose warm, exploratory sound makes them a fitting companion for nights built on patience, texture, and atmosphere.

Light Verse, Beam’s seventh album under the Iron & Wine moniker, arrived in April 2024 via Sub Pop and marked a quietly confident new chapter—intimate without feeling insular, reflective without retreating into nostalgia. It follows 2017’s Beast Epic, which cracked the Billboard Alternative chart’s top five, but more importantly, reaffirmed Beam’s ability to evolve while staying unmistakably himself.

Touring has long been central to that evolution. In recent years, Beam has shared stages with Band of Horses on a co-headlining run, teamed up with I’m With Her for the Robin’s Egg Tour, and joined Andrew Bird for their Outside Problems Tour. Before that, he revisited his roots on the Back to Basics Tour and went big with Calexico on the sprawling Years to Burn joint trek. Each partnership added a new dimension, and this upcoming run feels like another thoughtful turn of the kaleidoscope.

For longtime fans and newcomers alike, these shows promise something familiar yet alive—songs that breathe differently each night, rooms that feel briefly suspended in time, and a reminder that Iron & Wine’s quiet power still travels far. Tickets are expected to move quickly, so if Light Verse has been living in your headphones, this is your cue to hear it where it belongs: out in the world, together.
