St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Honors Country Singer Randy Owen

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital honors Alabama country singer Randy Owen and his family this weekend Jan 25. in Tennessee, by dedicating a patient family room in their name for the 30th anniversary of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids.

Randy Owen initiated the program by asking for donations within the country music community and he continues to inspire new artists to support the cause.  More than 900 attendees were present for the celebration with artists, executives, and radio personalities on site.

The Country Cares for St. Jude Kids radio program has generated over $800 million dollars towards researching a cure for children with cancer and other life threatening disease.

The program continues to spread their message through various music stations that range from gospel to rock and is able to eliminate all medical expenses for patients' families through their fundraising.
