Soundway has partnered with Third Side Music, the independent synchronization licensing & copyright administration company founded in 2005.
Soundway is a London-based independent label/publisher that was originally founded by English DJ and music producer Miles Cleret in 2002. Soundway has since released a series of critically acclaimed compilation albums and re-issues of African, Caribbean, Latin and Asian music from the 1950s – 1980s, as well as original contemporary releases by acts such as Batida, Ibibio Sound Machine, Bomba Estereo, The Heliocentrics, and more.
“I’m not saying I only do deals with companies where I’m already spending excessive amounts of money filling my record shelves with their releases… but it sure helps my decisions,” says Third Side Music VP / A&R Jeff Waye. “Couldn’t be happier to now be calling listening to hours upon hours of Soundway unearthed jams ‘work’”.
“Third Side Music understands what true independence in the music industry means today,” explains Soundway’s Managing Director, Paula J. Durán. “We are proud to say that at last our catalogue is in the hands of loving music fans”.
Soundway joins Third Side Music’s pre-existing roster of catalogues such as The Clyde Otis Music Group, Studio One / Jam Rec, Just Isn’t Music, and Galt MacDermot as well as artists including Sofi Tukker, Courtney Barnett, BadBadNotGood, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Kurt Vile, Blonde Redhead, Flying Lotus, Lucius, Colin Stetson, and more.
