Sonic Temple Lineup Announced

After nearly eight weeks of anticipation following the early-October announcement of Metallica headlining two nights at Sonic Temple in 2020 (along with every other Danny Wimmer Presents festival this coming year), the lineup is finally out and it looks amazing!

Sonic Temple’s sophomore year will see Slipknot headline Saturday night and between Metallica on Friday and Sunday. What’s amazing this year, though, is how beefy the rest of this lineup is, consisting of several other headline-level bands including Deftones, Evanescence, Stand and Bring Me the Horizon (a welcome addition after seeing their slot rained out last year).

Things are looking pretty solid deep into the show, with some of my personal highlights featuring Rancid, Pennywise, The Pretty Reckless, Alter Bridge, Anthrax and Testament. If you missed Power Trip at Rock on the Range in 2018, you’ll get another chance to see them, too!

While there are a handful of acts returning to Columbus, this is probably the most diverse lineup we’ll see at MAPFRE stadium in years. One thing is for certain though, DWP puts on music festivals for the full experience. As much as I look forward to the annual lineup announcements, the show is going to be a blast no matter who is playing. If you were holding out for AC/DC or Rage Against the Machine, let go of it. Get your tickets and start making plans. This is going to be an incredible weekend!

Music Connection will have plenty of coverage leading up to the festival, so be sure to check back as news unfolds.
