Royer Labs Debuts the AxeMount Dual Microphone Mount

Royer Labs, a manufacturer of ribbon microphones, has announced the AxeMount Dual Microphone Mount, the solution for blending a Royer R-121 ribbon mic with a 57-styled dynamic mic. This combination of microphones has become one of the most popular methods for capturing electric guitars, and now the process is made easier with the new AxeMount dual mount mic clip. Co-designed with SLR of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the AxeMount is manufactured by SLR in Canada.

The AxeMount microphone clip positions an R-121 directly next to a 57-style dynamic microphone, with the setup phase-aligned and ready to record. The AxeMount also accommodates Royer R-122, R-122 MKll and R-122V ribbon microphones.

The natural sound of the Royer R-121 ribbon mic, blended to one’s preference with the fist-forward pointedness of a 57-styled dynamic microphone, facilitates tailoring of recorded and live guitar tones. In the past, this miking process necessitated the use of two mic stands, two clips and considerable patience to get the mics properly aligned and in-phase with each other. The new AxeMount eliminates these and makes this miking technique easy to achieve.

The AxeMount Dual Microphone Mount carries an MSRP of $49.99 and is available now.

Located in Burbank, California, Royer Labs’ microphones can be found in many recording and broadcast facilities. Additional information on Royer Labs and its products can be found at royerlabs.com.
