Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation Announces "The Dollar Campaign"

The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) founder Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty today kicked off “The Dollar Campaign,” a fundraising effort that continues her ongoing support for global education. With this new initiative, every one dollar donated will be a chance for one fan to win a trip to attend the upcoming Diamond Ball in New York City on September 14.

Fans can support “The Dollar Campaign” by visiting the Clara Lionel Foundation website (dollar.claralionelfoundation.org/clf) and donating their money live on the site. The new website creates an immersive brand experience and this is the first campaign to  engage and mobilize fans for good through the platform.

The campaign will run for two weeks, starting today through Tuesday, September 5, and a  winner will be chosen by Thursday, September 7. The winner and a friend will receive tickets to the Diamond Ball with roundtrip airfare to and from New York City, and one night hotel accommodations.

In February, Rihanna received Harvard University’s Humanitarian of the Year Award and encouraged the audience with a call to action.

“I want to challenge each of you to make a commitment to help one person, one organization, one situation that touches your heart. My grandmother always used to say if you have a dollar there’s plenty to share,” said Rihanna at Harvard in February 2017.

Proceeds from the Dollar Campaign and the Diamond Ball will go to supporting the Clara Lionel Foundation’s global education, health and emergency response programs. CLF funds innovative education projects and scholarships and the Dollar Campaign is a way for fans and supporters to donate directly.

  • Every $1 donated will provide one brick to a school in Malawi
  • Every $5 will provide five bricks to a school in Malawi
  • Every $10 will provide ten books
  • Every $15 will provide a girl with essential school supplies
  • Every $20 will provide a month of schooling for a girl
