POSITION MUSIC SIGNS MATT GEROUX TO WORLDWIDE PUBLISHING DEAL AS A JOINT VENTURE WITH THE CORE

Nashville’s music scene has never been short on talent, but every so often, a name surfaces that feels tailor-made for the moment. Matt Geroux, the songwriter and producer behind Josh Ross’s U.S. Country Radio No. 1 hit “Single Again,” has just inked a worldwide publishing deal with Position Music, in partnership with The Core Entertainment—and the timing couldn’t be better.

With over 500 million streams across his catalog, Geroux has become one of the city’s most quietly powerful forces, weaving pop and rock textures into modern country’s emotional storytelling. The result is a sound that feels as ready for arenas as it does for playlists—a blend that’s earned him the trust of Nashville’s elite and the attention of industry executives looking for the next crossover success.

“Position instantly felt like family,” Geroux said of the signing. “And now having them join forces with my home team at The Core makes this moment even more meaningful. I’m grateful to have champions that believe in my songs as much as I do and excited for what’s to come.”

The deal pairs two major players in the modern music business. Position Music, an independent powerhouse distributed by Virgin Music, has spent the past two decades redefining what a music company can be—balancing publishing, records, and management under one roof. Meanwhile, The Core, founded in 2019 by Chief Zaruk and Simon Tikhman, has been reshaping artist development with a “family-driven” ethos and a roster that includes Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith, Nickelback, and Josh Ross himself.

Chandler Thurston, A&R at Position Music, called Geroux “one of the town’s most dynamic writers,” adding, “The combination of his writing/ production, along with his hustle, make him one of the town's most dynamic writers.”

Tikhman and Zaruk echoed that energy: “The team at Position couldn’t be a better fit for Matt. Their passion and commitment are exactly what he deserves, and we’re excited to see what this next chapter brings.”

Geroux’s success with “Single Again” wasn’t a fluke—it was a blueprint. His songwriting leans on narrative clarity and melodic sharpness, the kind that translates from Music Row to global playlists. He’s the rare writer-producer who can bridge that gap between commercial polish and emotional resonance.

And now, with the backing of two companies known for blurring industry boundaries, he’s positioned (pun intended) to push those sonic borders even further. Expect his name to keep appearing in liner notes and radio rotations, whether it’s the next Josh Ross anthem or a pop-country crossover you didn’t see coming.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Matt to the Position crew in Nashville,” Thurston said. “Big thanks to the team at The Core for their partnership—we're excited to continue working alongside them as things build."
