Canadian songwriter, producer, and artist Mickey Brandolino—best known as a founding member of Valley—has officially signed a worldwide publishing deal with Position Music.
It’s the kind of partnership that feels both inevitable and exciting: an artist whose creative DNA is built on collaboration linking up with a publisher known for championing multi-hyphenates.
Brandolino’s story started with Valley, the Toronto-born band that turned nostalgic melodies and sharp songwriting into gold—literally. Their breakout hit “Like 1999” earned a Gold certification, while the Last Birthday EP went 2× Platinum in Korea. Add to that a “Pop Album of the Year” Juno Award in 2024 and an Apple “Next Up Artist” nod, and it’s clear Brandolino’s fingerprints are all over the band’s success.

But even as Valley’s profile grew, Brandolino’s creative world expanded outward. He began lending his pen and production to artists like Conan Gray, Lauv, Johnny Orlando, ELIO (feat. Charli XCX), Chase Atlantic, and No Rome—a mix of artists who, like him, blur the lines between alternative, electronic, and pop. More recently, he’s worked with new-gen names including Mico (Columbia), Will Linley (Island), Kevian Kramer (Atlantic), and Knox (Atlantic).
“Partnering with Mickey and Greg feels like teaming up with childhood friends,” says Shannon Corsi, A&R at Position Music. “What’s unique about Mickey is that I met him as an artist/bandmate and later signed him as a producer, but he never lost the bandmate part. One day he’ll be in the studio with an artist, the next day he’s on stage with them in Europe going viral on TikTok. Mickey is the moment.”
For Brandolino, the deal isn’t just a career milestone—it’s a creative home. “Finding people who care as much about your art, work, career and goals as you do is a rare thing to find,” he shares. “Shannon is both, and I am so grateful to be welcomed to the Position team with open arms. I feel like the sum of all my experiences led me here and I am eternally grateful to everyone who has been a part of my journey, while at the same time I feel like I’m JUST getting started.”
His manager, Greg Seltzer, calls the partnership “a dream publisher/client relationship,” rooted in “shared musical taste, genuine respect, and being true fans of each other’s approach.”
Brandolino may already have the gold records and viral moments, but what makes this new chapter compelling is how hungry he still sounds. Whether it’s co-writing future pop hits or jumping back on stage, he gives off the energy of an artist who hasn’t peaked—just pivoted.
