The Best Fest brought together acclaimed artists to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers with Petty Fest. The fest is a two-night all-star charity show at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA benefiting the Refuge Foundation for the Arts.
Featuring the Cabin Down Below band hosting over 30 special guests, The Petty Fest included Norah Jones, Jacob Dylan, Emily Armstrong, Jonathan Tyler, Nikki Lane, Cory Chisel, Nikolai Fraiture from the Strokes, Matt Shultz and Matthan Minster from Cage The Elephant, Cameron Avery from Tame Impala, Brandon Boyd from Incubus, J-Council, Big Black Delta, Eric Pulido, the Shelters, Elvis Purkins, Chris Vos, Darren Criss among others, with a highlight to the surprise appearance of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' drummer, Steve Ferrone.
"Celebrating the living legacy of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers with an amazing line-up is a lot of fun," says Best Fest founder Austin Scaggs. "But raising money for Refuge Foundation, and doing our part to help support and nurture a new wave of musicians and artists makes this all worthwhile."
