Guitarist Johnny Markin has a fascinating story; back in his early school days, he made five cents per lesson teaching Michael J. Fox to play guitar. MC’s editor first encountered Markin in ’89, when he showed up in the U.K. village of Kingsbury to perform in the Methodist Church for local teens. Strange but true! Fast-forward 37 years, and Markin is still playing acoustic instrumental tunes, driven strongly by his faith. There’s a glorious sense of positivity here and, regardless of your spiritual beliefs, there’s a lot to enjoy.
