MUSIC.COM to Highlight Emerging Artists

Music storytelling upstart MUSIC.COM has announced it is launching four new storytelling-driven series all designed to showcase emerging artists and their stories. The series will extend the company’s ever-expanding universe of 1st person, artist-driven content that includes artist-penned articles, live storytelling and a deep archive of curated, tagged and indexed video song stories.

According to Robby Wells of MUSIC.COM“The last year has been incredibly enlightening for us, especially with regards to our role in the music landscape. Lots of artists turned to MUSIC.COM to tell the stories of their new releases. The artists who are the best storytellers… the ones who tell a very personal story and tell it creatively are brave for doing so. Those are the artists we are here to serveWe’ve learned that our role is to create strong, provocative relationships between brave artists willing to share their insights, intellect and perspective on their craft and the world-at-large with fans who appreciate and reward that openness. This new wave of shows is designed to get artists to tell stories that will connect.

When it came to finding the right artists for the program, the MUSIC.COM team looked to the label with a deep appreciation for artist development and the track record to match – Republic Records.

Chris Brannen, Head of Artist & Label Relationships at MUSIC.COM added, “In Republic, not only did we find the right new artists – each are undeniable stars – but they are also each easy to root for and fans will love the stories they share. We found a kindred spirit in the team at Republic. In the end, we are all incredibly focused on finding ways to put the spotlight on new artists. The unique spotlight that MUSIC.COM can shine is ignited by stories.”

Over the next 12 weeks, Republic artists ShaylenLundJESSIA, Peach PRC, Issam Alnajjar and Ayzha Nyree will appear across the slate with more artists to follow.

The first of the new series is “Crosstalk” which sees two artists peppering each other with provocative questions designed to unearth details about inspiration and process. Next is “My Story which is a highly visual, archival footage-fueled look back at the artist’s journey that has led them to their latest work. “The Moment” provides the artist the chance to reflect back on the moment when they finally felt seen, heard and noticed – and the occurrences between that moment and their latest release. Finally, “Delirious” is the backdrop for artists to share those songs that nobody saw coming, mainly because they came together unexpectedly at 4am after a long night in the studio. The shows will be promoted with a campaign that includes digital, social media and billboards.
