Look Out Kid Artist Mgmt Merges With Monster Artist Mgmt

Look Out Kid Artist Management is expanding their global reach with the news that the widely respected and admired management team of Jacob Snell and Alexandra “Apple” Bagios will be joining the company. The move will grow their presence in Australia and North America ensuring a strategic global approach to their business.

Snell and Bagios (formerly of Monster Artist Management) will bring their brilliant roster of artists (Australian acts Methyl Ethel Hatchie, and Rinse, New Zealand's The Beths, American indie-punk legends Cloud Nothings, Sub-Pop post-punk upstarts Sweeping Promises and prolific indie singer-songwriter Palehound) to the Look Out Kid roster. They'll join the likes of Courtney Barnett, Middle Kids, Sarah Blasko, American Faye Webster and Canadian Beverly Glenn-Copeland. The formidable line-up of artists will be managed from offices in Melbourne and Los Angeles.

Look Out Kid is also excited to announce the hiring of touring specialist Emma Hawkes. Hawkes was recently production manager of Courtney Barnett's US-based touring festival Here And There and has a wealth of knowledge in the touring music industry having spent time as a production manager, stage manager and tour manager for Australian music festivals including Lost Paradise, Groovin the Moo and Laneway festival and global artists Sofi Tukker, Hayden James, Dune Rats, Ruel and Gang of Youths.

Look Out Kid was formed by Nick O'Byrne in 2011 as a vehicle to manage Courtney Barnett, with whom he celebrated a 10-year working relationship last year. Since its inception, Look Out Kid has had a unique focus on the successful export of Australian musicians, however since 2018 it truly became a global management company with the addition of US and Canadian-based clients.

Monster Artist Management was formed by Jacob Snell in Perth, Western Australia in 2011. Early signings included Australian artists Methyl Ethel and Hatchie, whom Snell has managed since the beginning of their respective careers. Over the past 12 years, the company and roster has taken on an increasingly global focus, with the signings of international artists like The Beths, Cloud Nothings, Sweeping Promises and Palehound.

Quote from Look Out Kid:

"We've long had a huge amount of respect and admiration for Jacob and Apple. We love their roster, we share similar tastes and we care about the same things when it comes to the business of music. It's important to take notice when you find a kindred spirit in this crazy business so this feels like a natural step for us. I'm excited to exchange knowledge and celebrate in each other's wins. We couldn't be more enthusiastic about the year ahead."

Quote from Monster Artist Management:

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with Look Out Kid. We’ve seen Nick and Katie go from strength to strength with their incredible roster over the past decade and conduct themselves with an exceptional level of expertise, enthusiasm and genuine care for their artists and the wider industry. We see this collaboration as an amazing opportunity to learn from each other and create opportunities for our collective artists.”
