Indie pop singer-songwriter Leanna Firestone told us about her love for her Protege Cordoba classical guitar...
Leanna Firestone: I grew up with a lot of cheap guitars from local pawn shops in my home- and as a certified trinket girlie- I have a natural affinity for collecting guitars.
I can’t live without my Protege Cordoba classical guitar.
I bought this guitar a couple years ago from Guitar Center on a whim mostly because (I loved the pale blue color) and was interested in playing on nylon strings. Now, I find myself gravitating toward it, making it the most commonly used instrument for writing at home.
My callouses don’t have to be as tough to produce sound from these strings--and something about the dark tone of this guitar that sounds so nice paired with the timbre of my voice.
You will never see me take this out on tour--unfortunately, the cost of a cheap guitar is no included pick-up--but you will definitely see it in almost every singing video I’ve posted since I got it. There is no more perfect guitar for me.
Leanna Firestone's single "Town Ain't Big Enough" is out now. Her debut album The Answer is out May 15.
